What kind of weasly deal did Grassley make with Trump Jr and Manafort?

So they are not going to testify in public after all?

And they are not going to be under oath either?

And they are not going to be questioned by the Senators on the Judiciary Committee, but by their staff?

They are saying they are going to be "interviewed"?

What's the deal with that?

2. So now, they can argue that they have complied with the Senate's requests?

And there is no need to go any further with this "witchhunt"?

In a proper hearing, all winesses testifying cannot hear what the others say, until after the witness has testified.

what the other guy is going to say before they testify.
Not standard procedure.
I guess it also helps Grassley if he is trying to show there is nothing there...he helps them with their story.

Quid pro quo, if can be proved can be proof of corruption, which is illegal.

But unfortunately it is the action that keeps politicians exercising politics. It is not illegal

By the statement. She probably demanded that it be in public so everyone can hear the Bullshit

's Chuck Grassley's ask, was the they get a chance to answer the questions in private so they don't get tripped up.

Like what was said earlier, Diane Feinstein, sacrifices the chance of perjury charges, to get it on the record in public.

Chuck Grassley, gave them the ability to substitute a lie, and stick to it.

Classical political quid pro quo, classical cover their ass by Grassley

He will do what every he can to protect his Republican Party. His goal is to distract everyone by blaming it on the Clinton Campaign and the Democrats. Notice his dumb ass attempt with the Steele Dosier.

11. They're providing documents and will each be interviewed in private before there's an open session.

The leaders of the Senate Judiciary Committee have cut a deal with President Donald Trump's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., and former campaign chairman Paul Manafort to avoid being subpoenaed for a high-profile public hearing next week, with the two men agreeing to provide records to the panel and to be privately interviewed ahead of any public session.

In a joint statement, panel Chairman Chuck Grassley and ranking member Dianne Feinstein said, &quot W)e will not issue subpoenas for them tonight requiring their presence at Wednesday's hearing but reserve the right to do so in the future."
Feinstein tweeted later Friday evening, "The Judiciary Committee will talk to Trump Jr. & Manafort before they testify in public, but we will get answers."

14. All that you mentioned will happen at a later date....

.... not yet determined, but down the road.

Currently the only obligation is to produce some documents at some future date.

The buddy buddy ~ chit chat meeting will happen down the road when Manafort's and tr-dump Jr's schedules permit.

Grassley has some ancillary issues he wants to explore to take the heat off the Russian issues and divert attention.

Grassley wants to get to the bottom of the "false, fake, and fragrantly fraudulent Steele Dossier and how that piece of crap slimed our so we'll respected pee-Resident tr-dump.

Rachel Maddow covered the issue pretty well here...

Snip

Rachel Maddow blew up the Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman’s scheme to save Donald Trump with conspiracy filled hearing on Wednesday.

Maddow said:

This thing that is about to happen on Wednesday that just got scheduled tonight. This is the thing that I have been saying was coming. This is the thing I’ve been saying was coming from Congressional Republicans and Republicans who want to defend Donald Trump. Sen. Grassley has sent the subpoena tonight to head of Fusion GPS. He has canceled the testimony from Don Jr. and Paul Manafort and instead of hearing from them next week on the collusion issue, the Senate instead, will play host at a big open televised hearing to the big Republican pushback theory that they have been gearing up with, gearing up for on conservative media for a couple of weeks now.
