The results suggest that female candidates are particularly vulnerable to trait based attacks that challenge stereotypically feminine strengths.
Both male and female candidates proved vulnerable to attacks on policy issues stereotypically associated with their party and gender, but the negative effects of all forms of stereotype-based attacks were especially large for democratic women.

"How dare she run a second time" - I heard this from people who wished Biden ran - who himself ran twice, and if he ran last year would have been his third time.

(10,533 posts)Which is something I never seem to hear about male candidates. Some are already complaining about Kamala Harris being "anointed". The implication being that if a woman is pointed out as a frontrunner, it must be for some other reason than her qualifications, charisma, etc.
