Obama photographer responds to Trump's Boy Scout speech with pointed Instagram post

http://theweek.com/speedreads/714119/obama-photographer-responds-trumps-boy-scout-speech-pointed-instagram-post

Pete Souza earned his badge in trolling on Monday night after he posted on his Instagram account a photo and caption squarely aimed at President Trump and the speech he gave at the Boy Scout Jamboree, touting his victory last November.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BW8u34hl0Rv/

Souza was the chief official White House photographer for Presidents Barack Obama and Ronald Reagan, and has spent much of 2017 watching what Trump does, then posting a picture to his Instagram showing Obama doing the same thing, but, in Souza's opinion, better. On Monday night, after Trump got the crowd to boo Obama for not speaking in person at the Jamboree while he was president (he sent a video address in 2010), Souza quickly posted a picture of Obama meeting an adorable Cub Scout. "I can assure you, POTUS was not telling this Cub Scout and the Boy Scouts who followed about his electoral college victory," Souza captioned the photo.

Mr. Souza has become quite the resister.

I guarantee that O wasn't cussing and talking about sex parties in NYC in front of them, either.

Wittle Trump didn't want to sleep in a tent on the ground when he could be in his parents mansion.

As of 2014, there have been five U.S. Presidents who were Boy Scouts. Those five presidents were John F. Kennedy, Gerald Ford, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama. Unfortunately, in Texas scouting has morphed into the para-military club that many people always thought, mistakenly, it was. This is due to wing-nut parents and twisted leaders.

At the scout leadership and the scouts themselves. This type of response to fascism needs to be recognized and squashed.

As posted many other places, it is tradition to invite the sitting President of the United States, the ceremonial leader of the Scouts, to address the jamboree. To not invite him would be an overtly political act.

Our current shithead president took a giant dump on tradition and honor by politicizing a non-political rally. That is where the anger should be directed, NOT at the scouts.

we would have been severely chastised. There was no room for disrespect or disloyalty to any individual especially a former head of state or President.
The actions of the leaders and the scouts themselves mirror the behavior of all people who cast a vote for the lsos. It is time to call them out. Not just call their actions deplorable. They are deplorable humans.
Responsibility for acceptable honorable behavior starts in each of our hearts. And it begins when we take the Scout Oath.
The leaders who invited the lsos should have rose at once and stopped him once he started his normal deplorable behavior. The fact that the scouts themselves did not know the difference between respectful loyalty to country and what they were confronted with speaks volumes about the leadership they must currently have.

If the leadership remains silent after that speech then they are giving tacit approval.

He says things and illustrates things that Obama is too classy to do himself. But I'm glad the contrast between Dignified 44 and Dolt 45 is highlighted over and over again.
