Miriam Rozen, The National Law Journal
Even as her husband Jared Kushner testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Monday, Ivanka Trump has not been identified publicly as a target of scrutiny by Congress or Special Counsel Robert Mueller as they probe Russian interference in the U.S. presidential election.
But along with Kushner, the president's daughter has retained criminal defense lawyer Abbe Lowell, who is head of the white-collar group at Norton Rose Fulbright in Washington, D.C., to counsel her through the investigations.
As previously reported, Kushner and Trump both first retained Jamie Gorelick of Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr to handle questions related to government disclosure requirements and potential conflicts between their business and government roles. Then, when Kushner added Lowell to his team, Trump did the same. Lowell, along with Gorelick, will provide ethics advice and address any questions about the investigations if they arise for her.
Her decision to hire a white-collar defense lawyer and parallel moves by others tied to the Trump campaign strikes former Manhattan federal prosecutor Ira Sorkin as both an obvious and wise move.

(9,974 posts)It says to list ALL *immediate* family members who have had connections with foreign agents, etc..
So she would have had to list all the interactions that her brothers and father had with any foreign agents...not just her husband.
There is a Florida Dem congressman (forget his name) who initiated the request that Congress look into her paperwork. In the article he referred to having to drill all of HIS immediate family about if they had any meetings/doings with foreign agents when he did his paperwork. He started the request and a bunch of other Dems signed onto it.
If her paperwork or any of the "corrected" versions leave out that info, she has some explaining to do.
And this is probably why drumf has gone even more unhinged of late...he knows/knew that Ivanka was next up in the investigation.

(82,849 posts)I suspect that Jared's and Ivanka's interests will diverge as this matter goes on, and they will require separate counsel. If that happens, Gorelick and Lowell may both need to resign from representation because they will each have conflicts of interest that they can't waive.
