'WE F*CKING TOLD YOU': Internet hammers Caitlyn Jenner for being shocked by Trump's trans betrayal

BRAD REED
26 JUL 2017 AT 14:53 ET

Transgender activist Caitlyn Jenner, who has outraged many in the LGBT community for her support for President Donald Trump, expressed shock and indignation on Wednesday after the president announced that he opposed allowing transgender people to serve in the military.

“There are 15,000 patriotic transgender Americans in the US military fighting for all of us,” Jenner wrote on Twitter. “What happened to your promise to fight for them?”

The responses to Jenner were fiercely negative, as many asked her how she could possibly be shocked that the president would throw the trans community under the bus given his past flip-flops on several key issues.

A sample of the top reactions to Jenner follow below.

When I was a kid and before I could vote - maybe around 14 or 15 - I thought it was clever to describe myself with the "liberal on social issues/conservative on fiscal issues" label.

Then I grew the hell up and realized that being open-minded on social issues meant that you needed to take care of all of those who need our help - whether it means supporting their civil rights or providing them with funds and services in times of need. I also recognized that government funding of social services often has a stimulative effect on the economy, depending on certain conditions.

Today, seeing adults peddling that garbage burns me up to no end.

Ayn Rand fans as teens, but grew out of it, and those who stayed stuck in Randian fantasy land.

As Paul Krugman supposedly said,

“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

I've heard it a bunch of times, and it never gets old. Krugman's takedowns of Paul Ryan (who is often the reason for him pulling out that quote) are all pretty epic.

Great quote, I have an ex-coworker who's still a Randian, and he's in his 60s. Never grew up.

I remember thinking Atlas Shrugged and especially The Fountainhead were really, really cool. But I was fourteen.

1. Spend far too much on our military.

2. Spend far too much on farm subsidies going to mega agribusinesses and subsidizing things that are BAD for us like corn to be made into sugar, wheat to be made into junk food and crops to feed livestock when we would be better off eating more fruits and vegetables.

3. Giving "aid" to countries with the understanding that they will spend it buying weapons and aircraft from US manufacturers. I'm tired of paying for the fucking MIC, while Americans go without food, healthcare and decent educations.

The things worth conserving in this world don't interest them. And yeah, they are only "conservative" on spending when the spending doesn't benefit individual money grubbers or the MIC.

All these assholes having the come to Jesus moment, looking for sympathy. Fuck them, just fuck 'em. They were told, they were warned. They knew what kind of man trump was. They heard the * grabbing, heard his racism. Even the names he floated for a supreme court justice were rabid anti gays, repeal the ACA and so on. They chose to ignore all that and vote for him. And now they are shocked, shocked that trump is a homophobe, racist misogynist and governs that way.

They typically help us to keep things simple, but they are often wrong and can lead us into bad situations if we do not keep them in check.

The problem with Jenner is that she has a very large platform, especially as she has provided cover for the administration when it comes to LGBT issues. Jenner has used her celebrity to defend the administration despite the regular and consistent signs that Trump does not give one wit of care about anything but himself. That is why the backlash is directed at her.

CBT is focused on helping people to identify cognitive distortions that lead them to behave in maladaptive ways. It can be effective in the short term and focuses on training the person to be a "self scientist" by means of teaching reality testing and other techniques that disrupt emotional and thought processes that may be problematic.

Why the hell isn't anyone in the media questioning our VP and the rest of Trumps NSC about the ban?

Sarah Huckabee Sanders: "The president has expressed concerns since this Obama policy came into effect," Sanders said. "But he's also voiced that this is a very expensive and disruptive policy, and based on consultation that he's had with his national security team, came to the conclusion that it erodes military readiness and unit cohesion made the decision based on that."

Much like gender, it's certainly NOT binary. Not an either/or thing. You can be privileged in some respects, but not others. OJ Simpson comes to mind, as do Susan Sarandon and Cornel West.

At the end of the day, it's mostly about money. Fuck Caitlyn Jenner and the mattress full of cash she sleeps soundly on.
