And that might be the Obama strategy right there: make him get more and more into the weeds of what he was or was not doing at Bain because its a rabbit hole without an exit.
Even if Ramney can say that under some parsed, legalistic, technical definition that he was not actively part of Bain at a given time, there are enough muddy waters that make that separation less than complete. It's kind of Clintonian, like the definition of the word "is" and what does or does not constitute sexual relations. Ramney is politically tone deaf enough that I doubt he will be able to see the similarity, or how his parsing will just cause voters to roll their eyes.
Yes, there may be a lawyerly definition there way deep under the weeds that might even allow Ramney to claim his answers are legally accurate, but the average voter cannot be bothered with those details.

That is what is really bothering them.

If Obama's campaign machine is using this to keep Willard off balance on purpose, like the GOP did to Gore and Kerry, then I for one salute them. It's about time they figured out how to get in the first punch and keep punching.

Obama's strategy reminds me of something my dad once said:
"Son, ya know how to keep an idiot busy?"
"No, dad."
"Put him in a round room and tell him to crap in the corner."
Mittens is gonna be looking for that corner for a long time.
