It has really been all down hill since Reagan. He unleashed all the demons. He legitimized the Christianizes, racists and bigots. He put out the economic poison to kill the middle class and working class. And I do not know how we go forward from here.

Remember, Reagan was the one who pointed out that Social Security was not a budget item, and that anyone who said it was a drag on the budget was lying.

Even when Reagan famously said that government was the problem, not the solution, he prefaced those remarks by saying "in this instance," which was a way of acknowledging that sometimes, government is the solution.

Reagan wouldn't be a R today. Wouldn't be a D, either.
