The White House is only a building. So that is not the issue. The cartoon (crumbling White House) symbolizes the potential destruction of the constitutional democracy that has been the United States of America. In fact I think your comment shows a rather over-optimistic view of the future. There is nothing - nothing - inevitable about the scenario you have posited. (I wish it were inevitable, but it is not!) There is a set of other scenarios (horrifying ones) that collectively are at least as likely as the one you posit. So no I am not a "chicken little", despite my pessimistic post.
