(2,138 posts)made it very clear they'd visit me in prison if it came to that, but they believed there were consequences for adults and part of being a good parent was sticking up for a difference between right and wrong.
And to this day, mom would turn me in if I knocked over a bank, or conspired with a foreign government to rig a Presidential election

(11,949 posts)Dad gave me a briefcase and $500 bucks to pay car insurance and first months rent on an apartment. Shook my hand and told me he loved me and I was welcome to visit at anytime. And his job was done.
He never would have helped me dodge a car ticket or to collude with Russia.
