Russia link to negative articles about Kamala Harris and "asset seizure."

Russia, through its propaganda arm RT, is already whipping up opposition to Kamala Harris based on her position on "asset seizure."

And some Dems are dutifully falling for it.

I won't post from RT here. But there is an illuminating article on RT now about Kamala Harris's lawsuit against the corporation responsible for a massive methane leak in California, and about how she is suing for civil damages, including asset seizure.

I doubt that DUers wouldn't support this use of the asset seizure law. It is blatantly obvious why RT is opposing her now. There are Russian oligarchs who own parts of corporations all over the US, and they don't want those corporations to be subject to civil damages, including asset seizures, no matter what damages they may do.

Should be the same conditions as her California bill. It's a temporary freeze until conviction, and the prosecutor must file charges in 90 days.

I agree, people need to wake up, think, and stop taking the bait.

Take a look at JPR; how easy it was for hateful propaganda to sow a relatively permanent (it seems) chaos in otherwise reasonable thinking people.

3. Part of it is, asset seizure as a policy nationwide is problematic and has a known history of abuse.

So there is no doubt some knee-jerking around just hearing the phrase.

But I'm personally familiar enough with Senator Harris to believe her heart and head are in the right place, and from what I've read about the specific CA law, it's being misrepresented as you say. For one, there is a distinction between freezing and seizing, and the CA law seems more centered around the former.

Still, a conversation about the drug war and asset seizure is overdue, nationally. But I think both California and Kamala Harris are going to be on the right side of that one.
