(don't shoot the messenger) Trump had to leave WH all staff exiting - HVAC repair

President Trump and White House staff are set to clear out of the West Wing for several weeks for some much-needed repairs to the building.

Work has already begun on White House grounds to replace the 27-year-old heating and cooling system, the second stage of a renovation that started under the Obama administration.

The work, coinciding with President Trump's planned vacation to Bedminster, New Jersey, will push White House staff into the Eisenhower Executive Office Building due to lack of air conditioning.

In addition to the HVAC system, the South Portico steps are also being redone for the first time since 1953.

He didn't have to leave. You always try to work around the occupants' schedule. So when he decided to go on vacation, the contractor said, "great we can get a lot done while you are gone."

Executive Office Building "

Also from CNN that is below .....http://www.cnn.com/2017/08/04/politics/trump-white-house-renovations/index.html

" renovations to the West Wing, including structural repairs to address a ceiling leak, HVAC work and repairs to the South Portico steps on the South Lawn. Additionally, renovations to the Navy Mess kitchen, the West Wing lower lobby, the IT system and generic cosmetic upgrades including fresh paint, carpet and curtains will be completed before his return later this month. "

"A White House official confirms the East Wing will also undergo infrastructural improvements.

All of the upcoming improvements were approved during the Obama administration following an initial round of renovations.
Around the White House grounds, there were early signs of the upcoming work on Friday. A dozen PODS storage units lined the West Executive Drive between the White House and the Eisenhower Executive Office Building -- starting Friday afternoon, since practically everything in the West Wing will be loaded into storage. A West Wing hallway normally filled with framed photographs of the administration was eerily empty, save for several nails "

"And while the President has lamented information leaks coming from his West Wing, there are also actual leaks there. After flash-flooding in the greater Washington area last week, the ceilings dripped in three separate spots in the Lower Press area, emitting a "foul odor," per one witness. Staffers moved multiple trash cans to catch the dripping.

when the place is closed and the President and staff are on vacation. But I've had work done in places that couldn't close. We did it at night or pushed people from room to room as we worked on each one.

Places where thousands of communications go out every day to various units of government? BTW the staff is not "on vacation". They are in the EOB next door to the WH.

But I can promise you that contractors come in and out of the White House all the time and security is maintained. Or do you think they have to shut down the White House every time a toilet overflows?

Yes, some staff is moving to EOB, but some of them go with the President on his trips and a lot of others take their vacations when both the President and Congress are out of town.

All I am saying is that no repair job forced this vacation. Every President takes a vacation in August. They knew he was going, they knew a lot of other people would be gone too, and they decided that it was the best time to do it. But if they had to do it some other way, they would have made it work.

When electrical or HVAC works needs to be done, that's when the guys with the bugs show up. Wouldn't that be a hoot? Getting a FISA warrant for the Oval Office or offices in the West Wing?

I think tRumplethinskin would have canceled it by now!

"We'll sweat; we'll freeze. Just don't make us suffer under these Obama projects!"

Of course, he'll manage to try to put his own 'stamp' on it, and fail to pay the contractors or have all of the ducting gold plated.
