I think anti abortionists are bigoted.

Therefore I need to question myself in regards to my continued participation here as a woman who took this websites owners word for their words in the TOS regarding bigotry. This is something that we all had to agree to when coming back after the hack.

Why would any woman want to post here, in the face of so many men wanting to sell our rights down the river.

I really hope this is not hidden. This is a moment for all to take some time to self reflect, imho.

None that think women should bow down to Anti-choicers in the name of the party, want to give up any of their rights. This special treatment is reserved for women only.

is admitting that they do not consider those rights to be actual rights.

I can understand that some people are strongly opposed to abortion for a variety of reasons. my response to them has always been: "do not have an abortion if you feel that it is wrong".

Recommended.

I feel that some of the big tent embrace of everyone philosophy risks watering down the Democratic Party for the sake of winning elections. But at what cost?

and labeling as bigots people who are not willing to use a single issue (abortion) as a litmus test.

People who are not willing to use abortion as a litmus test are no more bigots than anyone who voted for Obama in 2008 was a bigot merely because Obama opposed same gender marriage.

See, the issue here is how seriously you take the matter of women's rights. That so many see them as negotiable says they are not considered all that important.

for "political expediency" twist themselves into a pretzel when their anti-woman, hateful, misogynistic and bigoted views towards my reproductive rights aren't in ANY WAY SIMILAR to the suggestion that we run a candidate who is expressly anti-civil rights, or who is expressly anti-immigration, or who is blatantly anti-muslim. ooo no, that's different, see. We'd NEVER run a candidate who would take away rights of black people because that would be going against the basic principles of the democratic party!!! But supporting someone who doesn't believe in abortion, or birth control....eh, political expediency!
