Nobody else takes on Jeffrey Lord like Van does. He is creative at it.

too combative, somehow got an overdose of the "kumbaya can't we all just get along-naive'" koolaid, or suffers a lot of cyclical mood changes...

When he is good, he can be very good. One of the more frustrating folks on our side.

To think that both have to be partisan in favor of the Dems on all matters is unrealistic. Both pundits make excellent points the majority of the time. That's more than can be said for 99 per cent of "analysts" these days.

He's surprised me by not being a party hack like so many cable news pundits are

Van Jones made one mistake....and it always seemed to me, since he made those remarks after complaints were made about him by Jared Kushner, that he was pressured by the network at the time, early on, to be more fair minded in what he said, and that one mistake might have been the result. He should be forgiven. He's said and done many more good things than that one remark.

leftover from the 2008 primary battle. I appreciated this moment immensely from May, but then he went to The People's Summit in June and trashed her mercilessly again.

Jones plays to whomever he thinks his audience is. It's hard to take anything he says seriously.

...but I've forgiven Van for that one egregious faux-pas. He's very intelligent and articulate but I wish he'd tone down his propensity towards being overly jovial and jocular at times. He's great on panels (when he's being serious) but I'm not at all fond of his "Messy Truth" shows.
