Russian influence over GOP goes back as far as Tom Delay and Jack Abramoff

I am so glad this is all coming out now. You can't fix corruption until it is brought out into the bright light of day.
This article is from 2005

----------------------------------------------------------

During its five-year existence, the U.S. Family Network raised $2.5 million but kept its donor list secret. The list, obtained by The Washington Post, shows that $1 million of its revenue came in a single 1998 check from a now-defunct London law firm whose former partners would not identify the money's origins.

Two former associates of Edwin A. Buckham, the congressman's former chief of staff and the organizer of the U.S. Family Network, said Buckham told them the funds came from Russian oil and gas executives. Abramoff had been working closely with two such Russian energy executives on their Washington agenda, and the lobbyist and Buckham had helped organize a 1997 Moscow visit by DeLay (R-Tex.).

The former president of the U.S. Family Network said Buckham told him that Russians contributed $1 million to the group in 1998 specifically to influence DeLay's vote on legislation the International Monetary Fund needed to finance a bailout of the collapsing Russian economy.

these ties go wayyy back, and here's a solid mention of one that's at least 12 years old. How about that. And, of course, the $$ movement is to the sleaziest of the sleazy.

Many thanks, sending this around!!

hmmm...this is before putin's rise...wonder if Semyon Mogilevich had a hand in this...?

13. Gaming and Trump is another rich area to explore for ties to lobbyists. More here:

The crooked lobbyist friends Trump acquired were involved in gambling and casinos, in particular, look at taking money from tribes and representing tribes up front while do the bidding of other clients in reality, Trump included. Trump was an enemy to Indian gaming. Abramoff, Reed, Stone, et.al. were working for casino interests.

4. corruption seems to go hand in hand with evangelism

I have heard a lot about the "odd couple" of orthodox Judaism and evangelical Christianity, like it's a video of a dog playing with a cat, how cute.

I've heard all kinds of theories about their relationship, a lot of them theological about the end of times, etc.

But I don't hear people suggest it might be about their shared love of corruption. Like the Christian Ralph Reed and the Orthodox Jew Jack Abramoff, working together on the very worldly issue of casino gambling. Even after that was exposed as about the most cynical fraud anyone could ever imagine, I have not heard it suggested that there might be something inherently corrupting about fundamentalism.

And now with the Russians. I hear theories about the odd affinity among evangelicals for Putin. But I'd like to suggest one that I haven't heard, that Putin is the biggest gangster in the world and fundamentalists love gangsters, and they love massive corruption.

Same with Trump, I kept hearing that he could never win a GOP primary because of the fundamentalist wing. But guess what, they LOVE him. I think he knew my theory is right about them, and he went out an convinced them that he would be the dirtiest president they could ever hope for, plus I'm sure he bragged about all his dealings with Putin.

was a person of interest to the Spook Brigade. Never read a story as to how he avoided prison, just suspected a Texas Judge that was bought off.

9. I think the Russians finally figured it out.

After decades of trying to promote communism and failing for the most part, they realized the best way would be to destroy target countries from within. And what better way than to infiltrate conservatives who are gullible and consider themselves patriots? It's the classic method of getting your enemies to fight on your side instead of their own.

Idiots who support Trump are itching to shoot their fellow Americans. All the Russians have to do is co-opt a few conservative politicians who can be crooks because their base is OK with that as long as you are anti-woman, anti-liberal and anti-poor.

They are no longer trying to convert us to their political ideology. Their mobsters are trying to break up the USA and steal the assets, just like they did to the USSR.

That's a false meme that you've accepted.

"Godless communism." Russia was never godless and never truly communistic. It was and always has been about power and control.

The PTB used clever ruses to control.
