VIX is at 2008 lows also and P/E rations are skewed ... margins high ... all blaring signals

they're all expecting to fall into their laps. If that should fail to materialize through pResidential hamfistedness and the clash of dogmatic egos in Congress, you'll see some of the steam let out of the market.
I don't think there is going to be a massive crash until the derivatives casino starts to go. There will be no warning for that one, and it will take everything with it, including access to cash unless you buried it in the back yard and managed to keep the thieves away from it.
