Congressman Paul Ryan cracked a joke about him, after Tom Nielsen found himself face down on the floor being handcuffed by police for asking a question. The 71-year-old retired plumber from Kenosha was thrown to the ground, placed in handcuffs, and arrested for trespassing and resisting arrest after objecting to Ryan's plans to gut Social Security and Medicare during his congressman's only public appearance scheduled during the August recess -- a $15 Rotary Club luncheon in West Allis on Tuesday.

(90,758 posts)In Ryan's view, the man will choose to die and not because of anything Ryan did.
Ryan wants what he wants and people are but flies to swat out of the way.

(6,908 posts)The flip-side of that? Hardcore conservative anarchists will cheer this strong-arm brutality. They cheer whenever there is video of someone getting roughed up. We must be careful to respond appropriately and not let that cheering narrative happen. Im gonna try to focus on a 71-year old being assaulted---that doesn't happen every day. Paul Ryan is an asshole every single day.
I wouldn't be surprised to see this video being featured by the Ryan camp showing how tough he is, just like Trump. Very presidential-like, if you get my drift.

(5,801 posts)The Founders realized that for democracy to work here, the populace needed to be educated.
Now a large segment of the electorate is ignorant and propagandized to believe false information, by faux and flush.
The oligarchs have taken over. Ryan is a symptom, one of the most obnoxious and blatant.
Democracy can't work under those circumstances.

(70,447 posts)BTW Ryan was all in on the Russian thing too.
https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2017/05/republicans-say-secret-talk-about-putin-paying-trump-was-just-a-joke
One month before Donald Trump won the Republican presidential nomination in 2016, G.O.P. lawmakers were whispering about the possibility of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. According to an audio recording obtained by The Washington Post, House Republican leaders were discussing a meeting with the prime minister of Ukraine, who had warned about Russias efforts to destabilize Western democracies by funding populist politicians, when the groupwhich included Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, and Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgersturned the conversation to Russian interference in the United States.
Theres two people I think Putin pays: Rohrabacher and Trump, McCarthy said, referring to California Republican Dana Rohrabacher, who has repeatedly advocated for closer relations with Russia. Swear to God, McCarthy added as others in the room laughed.
No leaks, Ryan instructed the group. This is how we know were a real family here.
A spokesman for Ryan flatly denied the exchange had taken place, but quickly changed his story after the Post said it had a recording of the conversation, arguing that the comments were just a joke. This entire year-old exchange was clearly an attempt at humor, Brendan Buck said. No one believed the majority leader was seriously asserting that Donald Trump or any of our members were being paid by the Russians. Whats more, the Speaker and leadership team have repeatedly spoken out against Russias interference in our election, and the House continues to investigate that activity.

The courts in Wis. have ruled against gerrymandering, so Lyin' Ryan might not get re-elected, if people wise up. His good buddy Eric Cantor was just as arrogant, and he lost his re-election.

2 AM radio stations spewed conservanazi hate 24/7 365.
They elected Wanker to county executive. Wanker proved how sorry of a conservanazi he was. The whites still voted for him.
Wanker became governor. He's still proving how big a conservanazi POS he is.
I knew some great people in Milwaukee County and in Wisconsin.
I also witnessed how lots of people in Wisconsin became more and more racist and conservanazi.
THE CONSERVANAZI PROPAGANDA MACHINE WORKED GREAT IN WISCONSIN.
Two of the biggest propagandists were Charley "Opera Singer" Sikes now a big conservanazi commentator on news stations. Another was a huge asshole named Mark Belling.
They still make me GAG when I hear them speak.

But that state voted this ryan POS in, they have to deal with the consequence and I doubt they have the temerity or fortitude to rectify the situation in 2018 because they respect nothing by voting out of fear of losing racial supremacy, which 60million plus citizens used as one of it's party platforms to vote for.
