See inside Trump's New Jersey golf club that's about to become the 'summer White House'

As Mar-a-Lago closes for the summer, Donald Trump will need to find another destination to meet with world leaders and play golf.

That's likely to be his club in Bedminster, New Jersey, according to Politico. It's the only one of his golf clubs that he built from the ground up, instead of purchasing and refurbishing, and the president holds a special affinity for it.

Take a look around Bedminster and the club, and get the history of how it came to be one of Trump's favorite retreats.

The Rococo love of shell-like curves and focus on decorative arts led some critics to say that the style was frivolous or merely modish. When the term was first used in English in about 1836, it was a colloquialism meaning "old-fashioned". The style received harsh criticism and was seen by some to be superficial and of poor taste,

and the tournaments themselves might never have existed since there seems to be no record of them.

Trump will sometimes respond to a shot he duffed by simply playing a second ball and carrying on as if the first shot never happened. In the parlance of the game, Trump takes floating mulligans, usually more than one during a round. Because of them it is impossible to say what he has actually shot on any given day, according to 18 people who have teed it up with Trump over the last decade, including SI senior writer Michael Bamberger, who has done so nine times. In 2007, Trump called Bamberger to brag about a 68 he had shot at Bel-Air Country Club in Los Angeles. Trump's handicap index is officially 2.8, but he has posted only three scores since '14. Els, a South Florida resident who has known Trump for many years, estimates he is "an eight or a nine." For Trump to shoot 68 on a tough course like Bel-Air would require him to play nearly perfectly from tee to green while making a number of substantial putts. One of his playing partners that day confirmed that Trump played "good," but that he took all the usual liberties common among everyday golfers: mulligans, gimmes, improved lies, etc. There was no mention of the 68 in a subsequent story, and Bamberger heard about it from Trump.

In a 2013 tweet aimed at entrepreneur Mark Cuban, Trump wrote, "Golf match? I've won 18 Club Championships including this weekend. @mcuban swings like a little girl with no power or talent. Mark's a loser." Trump has never made public a list of his club titles, and fact-checking calls to all of the Trump properties on this subject went universally un-returned. Winged Foot is the one non-Trump club at which the President is a member, and his name does not appear on any of the honor boards in the old clubhouse.

Late last November, President-elect Donald Trump and former Republican nominee Mitt Romney settled into a four-course dinner at New York's Jean-Georges restaurant, dining on frog legs and diver scallops. Over the previous year, Romney had been bitterly critical of Trump, calling him "con man" and "a fraud" — yet upon winning, Trump dangled the possibility of naming Romney to the position of secretary of State, leading to what would soon become Romney's Last Supper.

In a chilling photograph of the dinner, Romney has turned to the camera with the look of a man that would much prefer to be dining with the Grim Reaper. As Trump glowers at the camera with a mischievous grin, Romney's eyes yearn for a foregone era when he stood in resistance to the vulgarian in chief, a time before he was made to kiss the ring in exchange for serving his country as secretary of State. The only thing missing from the photo is a Sarah McLachlan song playing in the background and a phone number to call to stop the abuse.

Of course, two weeks later, Trump picked oil executive Rex Tillerson to be his secretary of State, ending Romney's parade of public humiliation. But Trump got exactly what he wanted: After the dinner, Romney told reporters that Trump "continues with a message of inclusion and bringing people together," and that his "vision is something which obviously connected with the American people in a very powerful way.” Romney became another well-coiffed head for Trump's trophy case.

but decent, tax-paying Americans do not want to keep paying their hard earned tax money to feather the nest of a vulgar self-claimed "billionaire."

republicans owe Americans a huge tax refund on account of this vulgar horseshit. Let the republican billionaire pay his own way, for crying out loud.

Hey, people are hungry. I'd rather my tax dollars went to feed the hungry than to pay for a vulgar republican glutton to wallow in chocolate cake and two scoops of freaking gourmet ice cream.

is that it does not have alligators. Many golf courses in the South do have alligators, big ones. I'm not sure if Merde-a-Lago has them, but it should, since alligators play an important role in the ecosystems of southern golf courses.
