Netanyahu faces imminent indictment

News out of Israel today is that Bibi is in imminent danger of indictment

<snip>On Thursday, Israeli police revealed they suspect Netanyahu of being involved in bribery, fraud and breach of trust in a pair of cases. On Friday, Netanyahu's former chief of staff and longtime confidante Ari Harow signed a state witness settlement in which he agreed to testify against his former mentor. This has raised speculation that Netanyahu could be indicted shortly, and sparked calls from opposition figures that he step down.<snip>

of them shared for so long. How will he be able to negotiate in the Middle East now? All the time and energy he devoted to this is now wasted. SAD!

I am sick and tired of being in opposition to the Israeli government. As someone who is married to a Jewish person with a large Jewish family it is a very difficult position to be in. Obviously they all understand my disagreement and realize it has nothing to do with Jews and everything to do with the policies of the Israeli government still it creates tension where it is completely unnecessary in many places.

All the Americans that come over just to throw the election to right wing causes resentment. Be careful if your in-laws are American, they probably back the right-wing Likud

My wife's side is very liberal she got the raw end of that stick my father was a republican asshole.

They don't have a real issue with my stance but there is a reflex to defend Israel just the same. It is completely understandable given the Jewish history but I am sick of feeling like I have to be careful with the Israeli government discussion.

Where it really grates is at my kids Jewish school where they are rabidly pro Israel. My kids come home repeating all kinds of Israeli propaganda that makes me see red. It is a good school though and they are on balance getting a good education so I just bite my tongue but it would be so much easier if Bibi was removed and they moved to a more left leaning government.

So I understand what you're talking about.

Most Jewish Americans are liberal, but are staunchly, blindly, pro-Israel.

A lot a great people up at that school, but when Benjamin did something wrong, they defended it.

Especially when the Likud is in power. I used to respect fully argue all the time.

When Perez was in power, almost 100 percent agreement, and no arguments.

They actually cannot stand Benjamin, but when you get between brothers, so to speak.

The Hasidic can be the hardest to debate, which is surprising with their problems with Israeli governance

in any other arena they are predictably liberal but when Israel is involved it can be dicey.

Israel is a homegrown ultra-orthodox segment that has grown large
in electoral importance. There is large conflict between them and secular Jewish people in Israel. The UO are very, very conservative and would kill all Palestinians in an instant if they could get away with it.

And then there's some sort of separation between them and the Hasidic, I don't think they recognize the government over there.

The nut jobs have everything they wanted... a Republican House, a Republican Senate... and Republican "President". And yet, they can't accomplish anything that was promised to them, Fox news is losing right wing commentators like its going out of style... their foreign hero's are in jeopardy, etc.

They got control of the fan just as the shit hit it.

Of course I will tell rightwingers it is for some other reason, like "Patriotic Soldier Flag Day" or something of a sort, those traitors love to call themselves the only true patriots.
