Unless Trump gets sick or resigns the nation is stuck with him. Besides even if widespread collusion or even treason is found with the investigations and indictments are issued I do no believe the DOJ or law enforcement will do a thing about it. The GOP holds all the power. Even if the GOP leadership is exposed and it is a good bet they are just as guilty as collusion.
That does not mean we give up the fight. What is means is that we must find a way to keep up the pressure. We are facing an unprecedented crisis in the US because the political landscape is so distorted and twisted.
Just about everything the GOP stands for is very unpopular yet they are still in position to wreck what ever they want. What is most bothersome if the stubbornness displayed boy Re;publicans that they are going to trash the health care system no matter what the voters want.
Unless Trump goes berserk in public and has a nationally televised nervous breakdown or goes really looney I do not know how we get rid of him. And Pence will be just as bad because the religious right will go nuts wants a Bible based government as soon as possible.
Honestly, we did not elect these people. Democrats got more votes yet lost ground. The election still stinks like a dead mackerel.

(3,166 posts)They'll only turn on Trump when they start losing elections. If they start losing, look how quickly they will denounce him and distance themselves.

(14,169 posts)As what would have happened if Clinton would have won as she should have. Trump would have immediately declared, as he threatened, that the election was rigged in favour of Democrats. And the deplorables go wild.
In the case if Republicans lose big in 2018, and the GOP try and badmouth him and promote Pence or others to primary him, his supporters will rally. Even violently. He may not ever get a majority, but the minority he retains will only get more vocal, more radical, more violent, the more their Dear Leader is purposely marginalized. And the deplorables go wild.
