"we don't accept gays and dogs"

Catholic guest house owners reject gay couple because ‘we don’t accept gays and dogs’

The owners of a guest house have come under fire for refusing to host a gay couple.
The B&B bosses, who are devout Catholic, told the two men that “we don’t accept gays and animals”.
Now politicians and locals have criticised the owners for being discriminatory.

Filippo Mondella, owner of the guest house, told Radio Capital: “This is important and I don’t want to appear like a troglodyte, but we don’t accept gays and dogs” and
he did not mean to offend by inferring that gay people are like animals.

Local authorities labelled the incident “a serious case of discrimination and homophobia”.
Giulia Russo, the mayor of Ricadi, said: “We completely distance ourselves from this.
“In Ricadi we are civil and evolved people and such discrimination is not acceptable in 2017.”

Italy is one of the least LGBT-friendly places in the EU.
The country still outlaws same-sex marriage, same-sex adoption, access to IVF for lesbians and has no discrimination protections for gay people accessing goods and services.

1. Ah yes, discrimination "because make-believe" is perfectly OK.

When asked what the RCC is doing to combat their continuing crimes against humanity, their response ranges from "HOW DARE YOU" to using their dollars to thwart investigations to . . . staying the course.

Small wonder why I left religion in 1985 and became an atheist. It's a sham and continues to be.

4. Right, because money from gays is worth less than money from straight people

It really amazes me when I come across ostensibly straight people who are more concerned about gay sex than any gay person I've ever known.

5. Well, I'm glad we always filter for "gay friendliness" when trying to find accomodation in Italy

Our stays have been very pleasant. Though we always visit the tourist-y areas where they probably have lots of gay guests. I think I detected a few other couples.

Maybe they should simply put this on their booking page. "No dogs and gays allowed! Only catholic, married couples! Preferably at least 5 kids!" So tourists can use that fact when deciding which accomodation they want to pay for.
