We are seeing the result. Reagan put that strategy on steroid starting in 1980. And it has worked extremely well for the GOP. Trump is the final result.

When Trump came to with his racist campaign the media never called him out on it. Instead they pilloried Hillary over made up accusations. They normalized his campaign. New we are seeing the US for what it really is.

I remember the civil rights movement in the 60's, and it was
pretty hot and violent.
Sometimes I think I'm seeing the modern remake!
It's hard to watch... as if all that progress was just a sham.
