When I type the suspect's name into my Fb search box, two RW sites appear in the top news hits.
Those two RW sites (which I had no familiarity with) prominently feature a tweet from a protester who blames the counter-protesters for attacking the suspect, thereby apparently causing him to fear for his life and to slam the car into the counter-protesters. Those two RW sites are the second and third hits which are initially visible in the Fb news results. The first hit is a reputable news site. If I click the "See all" button, I find a list of hits from several other sites, some of which I recognize to be mainstream.
I believe that the delivery of news through social media is heavily influenced by the right's cyber tactics.
On edit a few minutes after my initial posting: I now see a progressive-leaning news site among the top three hits. Maybe the top three Fb news hits are not being manipulated by the right to the extent which I initially thought.
