Unnamed White House Spokesperson Condemns White Supremacy for Trump, 36 Hours After Protests Began

Thirty-six hours after protests began in Virginia, an unnamed spokesperson for the White House has condemned white supremacy, the KKK, neo-Nazis and “all extremist groups” on behalf of Donald Trump.

“The president said very strongly in his statement yesterday that he condemns all forms of violence, bigotry and hatred,” the statement, emailed to the president’s traveling press pool, read. “Of course that includes white supremacists, K.K.K. neo-Nazi and all extremist groups. He called for national unity and bringing all Americans together.”

The statement comes one day after Donald Trump refused to denounce white supremacism, white nationalism or neo-Nazism in the aftermath of the white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia that left one counter-protestor dead.

"We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides," Trump said Saturday, a statement that drew bi-partisan criticism, but praise from neo-Nazi website the Daily Stormer:
