Misogyny

I posted a vile, disgusting piece of filth written by vile, disgusting pieces of filth. It wasn't to give them exposure, it was to expose that they are out there. They are contaminating our workplace, education system, justice system and political arena. They fill our society and culture. Some people do agree and feel that it has no place here. On the one hand, I want to agree. I don't tolerate misogyny. I don't want it to have a place. But in 2017, after all the fights for women's rights, I know it still exists. I didn't post it to be offensive or disrespectful, I posted it as a reminder of the reality that exists. I am grateful for all the women who fought before so I could have the opportunities that I do have. I stood up for a female sports columnist online being harassed because of her gender and appearance. She was being harassed by a male and a female. Misogyny isn't all one gender attacking the other. Sometimes our own say to ignore or be nice. But there only so much crap you can take. There's only so much being nice. And why should you be nice? Nice makes some people feel better. Wouldn't want to make anyone uncomfortable. But sometimes nice is just to easy to slip into. Screw that. I am so done with being nice. I am so done with worrying about what other people think. Worrying about being too emotional, sensitive, a whiner or a straight up bitch. If my opinions and attitudes make you uncomfortable or make you think. Good. If they threaten or intimidate you. Good. I am a strong, independent and intelligent woman. I come from a long line of strong, independent and intelligent women. If you have a problem with that, I guess that's just your problem.

It was posted. In fact, you responded to it. I just want to explain further why I posted it. I wasn't violating site rules but I needed to say my piece.

I sent it out to friends in case they were wishy-washy on the subject of who these people are. Their vile philosophy needed to be fully exposed. No more sitting on the fence. Pick a side, dammit.

It's almost unbelievable that anyone could think this way, let alone write it down. A few thoughts: He is so angry at females, it sounds like he has never had a loving, supportive relationship with a female, be it mother, sister, friend, girlfriend.
He also has an issue with body weight (at least for women). Maybe he has been fat-shamed himself in his past? Either that or he's reed thin and looks down on others not born that way.
He doesn't know how to count, which leads me to believe he lacks intelligence.
All in all, he sounds like a lonely and angry messed-up person who can only connect with others like himself.

It's sad in this day and age that it is out there but it is. And we have to recognize that. Usually that sort of deep-rooted venom and hate comes from somewhere. But it certainly doesn't justify or excuse it.
