'Bomb threat at Federal Building in Downtown New Orleans'

I don't work in that building but one nearby. Entire street has been on lock down for well over an hour, per an email from our building manager. Then I saw this:

Authorities are investigating a "suspicious package" found Monday morning (Aug. 14) near the federal courthouse on Poydras Street.

Louisiana State Police and Homeland Security vehicles were also present outside the courthouse, at the intersection of Poydras and Magazine Street. NOPD 8th District Cmdr. Nicholas Gernon was also at the scene, huddled near others from NOPD, Homeland Security and New Orleans EMS.

People continued to walk in and out of the U.S. District Court's front entrance on Poydras Street. The back entrance to the courthouse, located off the promenade between U.S. District Court and the building housing U.S. 5th District Court of Appeals, was closed. The promenade -- located between Camp and Magazine Streets -- was cordoned off by yellow crime tape. Officers stood at the edge, of the tape, directing pedestrians to the other side of Camp Street.

NOPD spokesman Officer Juan Barnes said officers also responded to a different report of a suspicious package Monday morning at the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility. An investigation into the report determined it was unfounded, Barnes said.

The report about a suspicious package near the federal courthouse came in at 9:41 a.m., Barnes said. The report about a suspicious package at Michoud came in about 20 minutes later, at 10 a.m., and the scene was determined to be safe a half hour later, he said.
