There's a fine line between reporting the news and becoming the news. Acosta is straddling this line. A good journalist tries to do the former without doing the latter. Once the reporter becomes the news, their neutrality can come into question.

While I'm sure most of them would love to tell Trump exactly what they think of him, they work for employers that are not paying them to do that. That's a job for the independent pundits, not the rank and file reporters working for a news agency.

Personally, I would like to see the press room deserted and boycotted. Just don't go to the press conferences at all. Take away every way he has to communicate except Twitter, and he should get thrown off there, too, in my perfect world. None of this will happen, though.
