Donald Trump Will Not Change. He Cannot Change.
Those who think he might are simply incorrect. He will remain as he is - an ignorant, bigoted rich boy who has somehow ended up in the White House and is pretending to be POTUS. He will not change, because that is beyond his capabilities, as he slips into the progressive dementia from which he suffers.
He can no longer remember things from day to day. This morning, for example, he tweeted a cartoon showing a Train with the brand Trump on it running down a person whose head had been replaced with a CNN logo. Many will remember a similar presidential tweet that had trump wrestling a person, also with a CNN logo replacing its head, to the floor. Trump does not remember the trouble that earlier tweet caused him, so he posted a similar one, because it amused him this morning.
Someone saw the offensive image and either deleted the tweet or got Trump to delete it, but it lives on, as does everything on the Internet connected with Trump. Trump can't remember, and memory is key to decision making. Trump cannot make good decisions, because he can't remember why he should. He's not getting better. He's getting worse, as is typical in such cases.
This morning's news reported two US soldiers having died in Afghanistan. Trump did not tweet about that. He has not tweeted about any US military personnel who have died. He doesn't know that he's supposed to do that and express his concern. He can't remember that expressing concern over our lost soldiers is part of his job. He also doesn't remember the Mosque in Minneapolis that was bombed recently, so he has never mentioned it.
Trump is being told that he should fire Steve Bannon and a couple of other alt-right members of his staff, but he can't remember why he should do that. So, he doesn't fire them. He simply continues along in his bumbling, forgetful way and acts on momentary impulses. He can't do otherwise, because he can't remember why or what he should be doing.
Trump will not change, because he no longer has the capacity to learn, remember and apply his experiences to himself. He doesn't know what has happened, so he cannot imagine what will happen. Donald J. Trump is no longer able to govern himself, much less the United States of America. He needs to leave that office and go somewhere that can provide him with the proper care. There is no recovery from the illness he has. There is only support and care. Trump is a deteriorating man.
He is incapable of being President, because he can't remember what a President does.
