What Donald Trump and Robert E. Lee have in common...

The following quote by Robert E. Lee speaks to Trump's mindset. No wonder he feels there are "two sides" to the debate over taking down his statue:

"I have always observed that wherever you find the negro, everything is going down around him, and wherever you find the white man, you see everything around him improving." - Robert E. Lee

"Demeitrus Williams has heard what Donald J. Trump has been saying recently about black people: That their neighborhoods were “war zones.” That they struggle to get by on food stamps. That they see nothing but failure around them..."

Trump's actions also lead the nation on a course to fulfill one of Lee's predictions:

"The consolidation of the states into one vast empire, sure to be aggressive abroad and despotic at home, will be the certain precursor of ruin which has overwhelmed all that preceded it." - Robert E. Lee
