I don;t want to overwrite the flaw of Washington and Jefferson (and others like them), And while their ideals exceeded their accomplishments, they never-the-less put us on a path of aspirational progress.
Lee, Jackson, and their ilk were doing the opposite. They were attempting to preserve a system of privilege and oppression.
