Out of curiosity, has Trump done anything contrary to the larger Republican agenda?

Inconvenient, maybe, but actually contrary? I don't think so.

The question is repeatedly asked: when will Republicans do something about Trump?

Well, why the hell would they? He's drawing all the fire, and he's cementing the support of the base (e.g., Nazis).

Until and unless Trump represents a demonstrable threat to the Republican congressional majority, they won't do shit to rein in him, beyond a few tepid harumphs and a bit of limp finger-wagging. Even if Mueller finds a warehouse full of smoking guns, dead girls and live boys, there's a very real possibility that the GOP won't move to impeach him.

Trump is the perfect distillation of modern Republicanism, and they have no incentive to act against him in any meaningful way.
