Trump is "without regret" after off-the-rails news conference

The President is largely defiant in the wake of his extraordinary press conference on Tuesday, two sources who visited Trump Tower today tell CNN.

He's plunging forward "without regret," one said, firmly believing the media and Northeasterners are unfairly hyperventilating about this. The two people said it is a similar posture that he took in challenging moments of his winning presidential campaign.

But the two people, speaking about an internal debate on condition of anonymity, say the reaction is so far breaking along similar lines that previous arguments inside Trump's orbit have fallen. His sons and those directly around him believe he is in the right and saying what many of his supporters believe. Yet his newer advisers are troubled by the reaction and frustrated that Trump doesn't seem to recognize this.

As long as he keeps his merry band of bigots and other losers happy, he knows he'll get his twice a day folders full of nice things from them.

real consequences for his words and actions? So far, he's been rewarded for his hateful and vile behavior.

He's the same man now as he was on the campaign trail.

There was a klan leader back in North Georgia whose daughter grew up to have children with an African-American man. This klan leader didn't stop being racist. For the longest he claimed the father was from Mexico - because that was better than being black on his hierarchy of hate. He finally admitted the truth but that didn't stop his hate. Because according to his hierarchy of hate, their whiteness could save them from their blackness.

Does anyone really think Trump sees his Jewish daughter and grandchildren any differently?

Because I don't. I think Trump views Ivanka Kushner and her children exactly like that.

Racists will jump through all kinds of contortionists hoops to cling to their hate.

Trump has a long history of being a racist.

I know the klan leader, initials DC, btw, (in case anyone knows anything about the location as some on the board do live in/near the city) held some convoluted views on his grandchildren.

But - He loved them. Without doubt. He obviously adored those children. I haven't seen them or heard anything about them in years - I hope the man changed for the sake of those kids.
