Why did Top FBI investigator abruptly quit Muellers Russia probe?

Any one on DU know? He was reassigned to "human resources" according to Raw Story. Like a huge demotion in my view. I also heard that they announced they would re-investigate HRC? Is this the new FBI head's doing? It sounds ugly behind the scenes. Heads are butting, maybe rolling?

Maybe this is already being discussed, but I am behind the loop today. Anyone on this story? Share a link?

Did the new FBI head at Trump's behest ask the guy to go back to investigating HRC? Did he refuse and get "demoted" to Human Resources? It sounds like something Nixon would try, so naturally I assume Trump would too.

Trump can't do squat at FBI, they are independent of the White House. If he tries, he's in more trouble. Remember what happened when Trump asked Comey to go easy on Flynn? That shit does not fly.
