Of all the mean hateful things that I've heard about in this country in recent years

Of all the mean hateful things that I've heard about in this country in recent years I think the laws giving immunity to people who drive into protesters is the most hateful. It is the sort of thing I would've expected of Notsi Germany or some Third World dictatorship hell hole.

I am truly appalled that some of our legislators are so hateful.

but as far as I am concerned the sponsors, Matthew Hill and Bill Ketron, share in the blame for the death of Heather Heyer. I will spare you the links because I don't want to pollute DU, but when the proposal was covered in right wing media, the comments sections were filled with grotesque murderous support for the idea of running over protesters for spite and for sport. Hill and Ketron's proposal certainly normalized what happened in Charlottesville.
