They never moved on to general election mode yet. They are still stuck in Republican primary mode. They think they are still competing against clowns like Perry, Gingrich, Paul, and the rest of that freak show.
They figure beating those clowns was easy. All Romney had to do when these same issues came up at those debates was stand there with a big shit eating grin without answering and the next day it would all be forgotten. And that worked out just fine through the primaries for him.
But that was the little league. It was like he was an adult arm wrestling a 5 year old kid.
But then when it came to the big leagues his campaign didn't adjust. They stayed with their little league mentality that had worked against those GOP clowns.
Now they are trying to make the adjustment but it is too late. They have found themselves in the middle of the 7th inning stretch down by 12 runs and the ace starter is hurting. Hurting real bad.
And there is no bullpen in this game to call a closer out of.
So expect to see a lot more anti-Obama stories coming from shady or unidentified sources with the sole purpose of trying to lower our enthusiasm for the President. Because that is all they have left now.
They are a pitiful bunch.

(14,881 posts)would work a second time. Like nobody else would have the smarts, time and resources to do sufficient opposition research to uncover the SEC/FEC filing contradictions.
Obama set them up with the Bain outsourcing attack.
They countered with the 'I had no role at Bain after 1999 when I retired' and expected that would shut down the story.
And out came the SEC filing and possible felony. Coupled with repeated calls to release taxes.
Whoopsie.

(22,308 posts)Hell, it wasn't that long ago that even here people were attacking President Obama as being weak and not able to fight it out with Rove and his thugs.
No more of those posts now. Not even close. Nobody calling him a conservative either.
The more of a fight it is the more we like it. They can attack if they want but the backlash from it serves our side more than their lies damage The President.
I'm not sure they can transition to a General Election mode. That would be like asking a pitcher who has nothing but breaking balls to go out and throw 100+ mph fastballs (to borrow your metaphor). It just ain't gonna happen. Rmoney can't win on the economy by touting his business record and he has no other argument he can make for himself.

(3,784 posts)....................the fact that Mitt Rmoney is just a genuinely bad person to his very core and he tries to cover it up with his smarmy, nice-guy facade that fools no one. Most people know fake when they see it. That's why Rmoney is going to get slaughtered. You think he's behind in the polls NOW? Just wait until after the debates. If I were the Obama campaign, I would have a news crew following Rmoney around 24 hours a day, just to keep him talking. The more he talks, the worse he does. Just keep talkin', Mitt. You're doing great.

(8,419 posts)I prefer that we are up 27-7 in the second quarter and they float a lame pass over the middle. We, the strong safety, have a choice to pick off the pass or inflict a great deal of pain. As the pass is floating, we remember all the shit these assholes were talking prior to the game and just slam them and walk away why the ball settles on the field and they are running to see if their player can get up.
Get up you mother fucking pieces of shit! The pain has just started.
