IMHO: "both sides" meme the old "all poiticians are bad" meme.

I think people who get a mic shoved under their noses and are asked who was right in Charlottesville have no idea what actually happened. They're not going to attempt to reveal what they know about it: In stead, they'll revert to their own default and always appliccable "the dems are just as bad as the repubs."

That reply has worked for them since bush, and so it's what you get from them: NOT critical thinking.
