What he likely meant by that is that the counterprotesters were cutting accross a wide demographics. That is, not just 20 yr kids but also older people like mums. It was an attempt to show that this protest was popular, totally non-violent and everybody participated.

If that's their total turnout, I'll grin bigly. But I wonder if more will show up later? Maybe they're waiting for dark to make it harder to get a clear picture of them. And I hope that they all have very clear, easily identifiable photos taken by the counter-protesters so that they can be identified.

But looking at the counter-protest turnout and the anemic gathering so far of the white supremacists, I'd say that this event refutes the ideas of the people who say that you shouldn't show up and counter-protest at their events. Seems to me that counter-protesting puts a serious wet blanket on their enthusiasm.

Stuff like this is great, a large display that unequivocally shows everyone that the peaceful, tolerant majority vastly outnumbers the bigots.

There are millions of racist pigs in the US, you can't control what people think or feel about their fellow human beings, and if we are now going to equate a racist with a Nazi, then I guess yes, we have a huge Nazi problem.

That is what they should always do. Make it like a de-militarized zone. They did that at an Impeach Trump rally in San Diego in July but only AFTER the Proud Boys spent 1 hour inciting violence and disrupting our guest speakers. The cops just stood there and watched until an assembly person called the Chief of Police after she tried to speak at the rally and was drowned out by Nazi megaphone sirens.
