Boston population: about 673K.
Charlottesville population: about 47K.
And thousands of Nazis/KKK descended on little Charlottesville.
They will probably return to targeting small college towns. . . .

Maybe more of our side will be willing to travel longer distances to these events. Charlottesville is only about 2.5 hours from Washington DC and an hour from Richmond.

The white supremacists aren't so brave when they aren't allowed weapons.

They could be thinking they would find a more sympathetic
reception at the home of Oral Roberts Univ or Liberty Univ.
They might have thought Charlottesville was close enough
but it just didn't work out for them.

They would have had trouble disarming thousands of marchers.
And people on the ground said the militias were far better equipped than even the state troopers -- much less the Ch'ville police.

Huntsville, Alabama police separate pro- and anti-Confederate memorial protesters
One arm tattoo says "white" and one says "pride"
Huntsville police officers repeatedly separated pro- and anti-Confederate memorial protesters on the Madison County Courthouse Square Saturday. The strategy of keeping pro-memorial counter-protesters on the opposite side of the street worked allowing the event to continue with no violence on a hot August day.
More than 100 people came to the square to protest the statue of a Confederate officer that has stood in front of the courthouse for decades. Countering them were about a dozen men waving Confederate flags, and others circled the square flying Rebel flags on motorcycles and from car windows.
