http://www.latimes.com/politics/washington/la-na-essential-washington-updates-trump-adviser-sebastian-gorka-to-leave-1493650018-htmlstory.html

"A senior administration official says Sebastian Gorka, a former counterterrorism analyst for Fox News who joined the administration as a counterterrorism adviser, will be leaving the White House in the coming days.

The official says that Gorka had initially been hired to play a key role on the Strategic Initiatives Group, an advisory panel created by Trump's chief strategist Steve Bannon to run parallel to the National Security Counc

But that group fizzled out in the early months of the administration. Gorka was unable to get clearance for the National Security Council after he was charged last year with carrying a weapon at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

The official spoke anonymously to discuss private personnel matters. Attempts to reach Gorka by email for comment were not immediately successful."

terrorism. His dissertation is apparently a total joke consisting mainly of analysis of a few films that depict Islam in historical contexts (which may qualify one to teach a film class but not to serve in the WH as an expert on terrorism). He was/is a total unknown in the field of study he claims to be an "expert" in before popping up as Trump's best buddy -- no publications (rather ONE multi-author publication in a peer-reviewed journal -- based on this record he would never be awarded tenure), no appearances at legitimate academic conferences -- any of the standard practices that would be required of a grad student in the U.S. (and, again, as the supposed White House expert on these subjects).

It is annoying that he was even awarded a doctorate (from a university in Hungary) based on such weak work, and of course he demands that he's called "doctor," without work in original languages or field research, which would be expected by any serious graduate school here in the states. For my own dissertation I spend summers studying manuscripts and translating original languages in addition to the massive amount of research that one must do to acquire expertise in one's field. Gorka is a clown.
