My husband watched it. I listened within earshot.
It was uninspiring.
Obviously, he didn't write this speech. Whoever wrote it I'm sure worked with the military. Obviously there is supposed to be some "vision" or "goals" or "strategy" with Afghanistan, but I couldn't figure it out.
He sounded like he was against nation building, but I have no idea what he was "for".
He said nice things about Pakistan, then he said not so nice things about Pakistan.
Then he mentioned India. I have no idea if India is going to be involved in strategy or he was just complaining about Pakistan being a PITA towards India.

...was at the very end, as soon as Trump left the room, the applause sign went off and everyone in the room kinda shrugged and looked aimlessly around, clearly not knowing what to make of that double helping of word salade. You just can't fake that kind of 'what the fuckery'.
