WAR PLANNING! McMaster showed Trump a 1972 photo of Afghan women in MINI-SKIRTS!

David Choi 4hr

H.R. McMaster showed Trump a black-and-white, 1972 image of Afghan women walking in miniskirts to convince him of a plan for Afghanistan

Before President Donald Trump unveiled his plan Monday to increase the US military presence in Afghanistan, his senior advisers employed a novel approach to help guide him to his final decision, The Washington Post reported Monday.

H.R. McMaster, the national security adviser who still serves as a lieutenant general in the US Army, showed Trump a black-and-white image from 1972 of Afghan women walking through Kabul in miniskirts, according to The Post.

McMaster ostensibly used the image to convince Trump that Western norms could exist in the country.

can be manipulated from a 1970s photo of what he may perceive as hot women, to feed the meat grinder at a higher rate? This is how simple this asshole is? So a culture has to want to be a mini USA to become "civilization". Fuck both of these men. Any woman with a brain that works in that White House could slap both the back of their skulls for this primal stupid thinking.

Presidents are not allowed to be this simple, he can leave now. Young people, don't go into the military, yeah those crappy jobs suck but you're not gonna die because two men looked at a photo of women wearing short skirts to prove to the President, look a million years before you were born they were like the rest of the world. Cultural baselines, from a by gone era.

Lord, help our young military members. Officers be damned.

Not my decision. UnAmerican, but hey, I'm human enough to think others can live a life a different way. I'm sure, somewhere, published is a huge amount of studies about bombing people to change a culture works.

It's about stealing minerals, that at least I can understand.

And by whom? I know there is a standard internet meme that there are "a trillion dollars" worth of minerals in Afghanistan. (These internet allegations always have a nice round number that everyone can remember) But no one ever says who is stealing them or how. We have been there for 16 years. Plenty of time to steal things so I wonder why no one can ever identify the culprit.

It's the change in policy, about taking minerals out to subsidize how much much we're putting into Afghanistan.

See Rachel from last night, maybe her podcast. Maybe some new govt contracts will open up for civilian companies to get in there. Companies that know how to deep harvest. China is already there working the soil.

Again, sorry active duty military. We should leave, it's not working.

Posted that many times. I was there in 2002, 10th Mountain Division. But I have seen no evidence of mineral harvest.

I've come across them from time to time since 9/11, I didn't believe them the first time I saw them, I never imagined Afghanistan was anything other than what it is now.

A couple of thoughts: first, I'm not the president, but I'm sure that his ignorance about Afghanistan is even worse than mine.

Second, I'm sure that there are Christian extremists in our country who if they had power would eliminate the freedom that that photo represents, just like the Taliban did.

Just think of the power! Sexism claims the sexist. "Mr. President, we know you think bombing China is a wonderful idea, but...look at this cute anime girl. She lives there. She's even wearing your MAGA hat, see? Wouldn't you rather go hunt down the Nazis? Here's a picture of a different anime woman, but she was attacked by them! Yes, yes, we'll work up plans to take care of them right away, sir!"

That sounds an awful bit like nation-building to me. It's a lost cause. Nobody there wants that way of life anymore. The best you can hope for is a dictator who keeps the Taliban and ISIS in check.
