Here's What Trump Cannot Survive.

President* Trump has taken credit for the strong economy, which is just a residual effect of the Obama Administration. After all, no change in policy has occurred. But even in the best of circumstances, there is still a cyclical nature to the economy, and the large banks are warning of that downturn, just around the corner. Trump has burned his bridges on trust and will never be able to handle a negative GDP and job growth numbers, or a 20% correction in the Dow.

<snip>“These low macro and micro correlations confirm the idea that we’re in a late-cycle environment, and it’s no accident that the last time we saw readings this low was 2005-07,” Sheets wrote. He recommends boosting allocations to U.S. stocks while reducing holdings of corporate debt, where consumer consumption and energy is more heavily represented.<snip>

Once the economy gets into trouble, Fox News, Trump and the GOP will blame it on... the media.
Exactly.
If only the media would stop reporting how bad the economy is doing, confidence would go up and the economy would be fine. Which it totally already is.

They dismiss Trump's every fuck-up by blaming it on Obama's disastrous policies.

Trump is going to fuck up the economy? Nope--that's Obama's policies coming home to roost.

Trump is going to fuck up the ACA? Nope--that' Obama's terrible policy collapsing as predicted.

Trump is going to fuck up foreign policy? Nope--that's the effect of Obama's weak diplomacy.

etc. etc. etc.

Yep - Clinton's.

Cause he didn't pull a Tom Cruise in Minority Report and go forward in time to get OBL (as a side note, the same fuck wits hounded his ass during the 90s when he was trying to emphsize OBL and radical islamic terrorism as a threat because he was just trying to take the focus of the vital national security issue of his getting a blow job).

President Donald Trump seems to favor measuring his economic performance by the way in which the U.S. stock market is doing. However, a more revealing and less rosy measure of his economic performance might be coming from the currency markets.

Following an initial bump up in the dollar’s value at the end of last year, on the prospect of a Trump presidency, the dollar has lost as much as 10 percent of its value since January 2017, Trump’s inauguration. This sharp dollar decline suggests growing doubts on the part of currency traders as to the direction of U.S. economic policy.

The dollar’s recent decline is particularly troubling, as it comes at a time when two historically very dollar-supportive factors are in play.

He should have kept his mouth shut the last 7 months, this is Obama's economy. A down turn has to happen soon, you cannot have a bear market indefinitely with j interrupted job growth. He's going to own the down turn.

conservative asshats in the money market sectors got an extra sugar high over Trump getting elected.

The market has not been this over inflated since the tech bubble.

It has to correct at some point.

The only silver lining to that I can see is that the Republicans might tear themselves apart on whether they run someone else as a candidate in 2020, and whoever would end up as their candidate could easily be blamed for the Republican mess, making a Democratic victory extremely likely.

If a downturn happened quickly it might help Democrats in 2018, but it might not be so easy to show them responsible in a short timeframe.

it will fray at at margins.

We are going on 48 hours now of the breathless national circle jerk over ESPN making a benign commentator schedule change.

All that is going on in the world and this country is that GD stupid that THIS is some kind of major issue.
