Little known fact: Comey and wife are huge foster parents. Even foster-parented babies while he was FBI director.

1. His wife seems to be liberal based upon what little I read about her.

I bet he is kicking himself over his actions that likely helped get Trump elected. I don't think he intended to help Trump, but he did. His action should stand as a lesson to the "vote my principles types", the world in not an isolated black and white situation, there is gray involved, so a person needs to evaluate a range of issues and policy.

2. I doubt it. I think he wanted the Republican candidate to win, even if it was Trump.

His actions were inconsistent with liberal democracy.

And he has said that he does not regret them.
