I think that might have been my favorite of his roles. Although I loved him on Cheers, too.

He was funny and a bit of a jerk and really enjoyable. We chatted several times so I felt like he was "mine."

I remember that Lone Ranger story. I'm oddly sad.

I started listening to his show last year off and on but hadn't searched for it for awhile. I didn't know he was ill. Such a funny guy.

He was on Howard Stern's show. When asked about kissing Carla (Rhea Perlman) on Cheers, Thomas noted he received combat pay for doing so. Shortly thereafter, he was told his role would be ending.

I always liked him in whatever he was in.

A couple of months ago I was stuck inside and flipping through channels to find something, ANYTHING to stop the boredom. I came upon Jay Thomas, he was on a show about the paranormal. It was about a house he had lived in and raised his son in. Normally I would have zipped through that channel without a second look but I watched that entire hour (I think, it seeeeeeeemed that long anyway) just because I had not seen Jay Thomas in a while and I liked him.

I hope his passage was easy. The man sure made a lot of people laugh and feel better, I hope there was no suffering involved.

That is the greatest radio story ever. I've been in radio since 1983, and I have my own stories. That is the best!! Being an old radio guy, David Letterman just loved it.

as an extra in the conference room scene about cutting the budget. Also William Macy, Richard Dreyfuss and Alexandra Boyd.

Took all day to do multiple takes; Jay and Richard kept us all entertained between takes. Jay was funny and down-to-earth, just a really nice man. Glad I got to work with him.
