on financial industry fraud. They have the guy from Bain, Conard, that is an apologist for overcompensation of the 1%. He's getting his ass handed to him. Awesome.

(31,464 posts)I've tried, but they are so insipid, so in-balanced in any way, so totally devoid of facts, they're just unwatchable after you seen UP and MHP.
The "old" Sunday shows are nothing more than campaign stops for the candidates, which is why you rarely see any of them on UP or MHP...they have to sit and answer real questions from people who aren't automatically friendly to their positions.

What a country.

(29,067 posts)I've given up on most of those as well, but I do
like a lot of the evening MSNBC shows, as well as Martin Bashir.

(5,818 posts)about the terms of his departure to satisfy.
Remember, Romney owned 100 percent of Bain capital stock, and Bain profits averaged 88 percent over a long stretch of deals. Monetizing those kinds of gains puts a huge multiple on the amount of capital Mitt originally supplied, so huge that the partners could argue over just how huge for YEARS.
The words Conard put in Mitt's mouth are:
"i've created a tremendously valuable firm that's making all you guys rich".

(1,696 posts)I bet he thought he was coming in as the sharpest knife in the drawer, but the young lady is handling him with ease. I'm loving it. His eyes are rolling around as only the entitled can.

(11,646 posts)let them get away with platitudes about how great the US is. Bill Black has got the facts and the studies that refute EVERY point this guy makes. Wouldn't it be great if all of the news shows had REAL debates?

Okay, specifically on what date did they come to terms for his separation from Bain? That date would determine how long he was still working there. And his name and signature was still on SEC documents until when?
ProgressiveEconomist
(5,818 posts)IMO that's NEWS. See post #17 above.
Conard just supplied ammunition for ads that would turn Romney into Gordon Gekko.

(1,696 posts)"Romney left in 1999 and the 'partners' ran the company. Who are the partners? There are no partners listed on the SEC documents. And, there are other agreements with Rmoney's signature other than the SEC. Individual transactions. He's lying for his boy. Not convincing me though.
Again with the "I don't recall him coming back." It took them three years to negotiate his leaving. Well, then that means he was still there and he was still the responsible party. This is bullshit.

(268,943 posts)one more paid hack - expect to see him more often.
Yes Willard was so proud that he's lying about the dates.

(6,160 posts)Earlier he said he did not remember Mitt attending any meetings. He just said he attended the meetings and he never saw Mitt.
What is the truth, Conrad?

(1,696 posts)is the reason why we find what they did in off shoring or outsourcing so despicable. He could say with ease, "We pay lower wages, we are not responsible for their healthcare, safety, etc." They exploit these people with no qualms at all and take jobs away from America because we demand respect from our employers. This man is making me sick to my stomach.
They think this is a dog days of summer issue, well, it's not. It is the reason why we are in the mess we are in. They will find slaves if it's the last thing they do. No, they won't bring them home, like they did with African Americans, where they might one day rise up to confront them on their own soil. They will work them to death and step over their carcasses in foreign countries. Fucking pigs!

(63,903 posts)I wonder how that statement squares with the American voter. My guess is that he/she will ask "where does all this leave me and my family?"
Nobody on the panel addressed that question. I wish they had.
A great show. NO ONE else on the networks or cable is talking about this.

(4,242 posts)I can't refer to that evil being as a gentleman, more like a monster - AND to think that he's proud of what he did at Bain, and he says Mitt Romney should be proud of these "accomplishments". Pretty disgusting

(31,464 posts)Not nearly as friendly a response. Quite a few people think Hayes went to easy on Conard. It was pointed out, and I believe rightly, that if he had truly gone for the jugular, Conard would have clammed up and gone the defensive. Instead, Hayes generally put his at ease and let the rope out gradually with which to hang himself. It's hard to say how anyone could think this made Conard -- or Romney -- look good.

(4,242 posts)AND then he read that excerpt from his book. The excerpt refers to the advantages of outsourcing: unregulated polluting, exploitation of workers, no government interference, no accountability..... That made the guy squirm - & I think that excerpt should be used against Romney.
