Rove: Romney Needs To Talk More About What Hed Do As President
Karl Rove said on Fox News Sunday that Mitt Romney isnt doing enough to explain to voters what hell do if elected president.
One of the best ways to define yourself is describe what it is youll do, he said. The more he describes now what it is he will do when he becomes president
Guest host Brit Hume interrupted and asked if Romneys doing that enough, and Rove said, I dont think he is.

(128,840 posts)1. Rove the puppeteer
already has Rmoney mindlessly mouthing talking points at every event. "Repeal and replace", "Pass Ryan Budget", "Cut taxes".
He's like a robotic broken record.

The fact Rmoney is trying to de-emphasize his governorship says tons.

Even Rove should understand that.

pretending that Romney isn't in deep shit.
Still, Romney has got nothing. His jobs record as Governor sucked. He's running on repealing health care, ending Medicare and giving bigger tax cuts to the rich than even Bush did. Krugman:
Base Broadening Baloney
MItt Romney is proposing large tax cuts that would disproportionately benefit those with very high incomes. But he has also claimed that he would offset these cuts by broadening the tax base eliminating deductions and loopholes and furthermore would do so in a way that preserves the progressivity of the tax system. Yet he has refused to name a single loophole he would close.
I think its obvious that the base-broadening stuff is just a smokescreen, that he has no intention of doing anything along those lines. Still, its worth asking whether such a thing is feasible. And the Tax Policy Center has an answer (pdf): No way.
<...>
In a better world, Romneys tax claims would be laughed out of the debate.
