Trump bypassed the Pardons Office and acted prematurely to grant Arpaio pardon. Arpaio was only convicted of a misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in jail.for intentionally defying a judge’s order to stop his traffic patrols that used racial profiling, but he wasn't even sentenced yet.
