My guess is Trump is paying attention to coverage of the Arpaio pardon, especially any responses from GOP lawmakers, since this was almost certainly a test pardon to see if he can get away with pardoning his family and associates, and himself, as Mueller closes in. If he's checking to see if pardons could lead to his impeachment, he must be feeling encouraged by the lack of GOP criticism, with McCain the only notable exception so far.
