Neo-Nazis fly swastika, salute at Virginia shopping center where leader was killed

A small group of neo-Nazis gathered outside an Arlington, Va., shopping center Friday to commemorate the 50th anniversary of an American Nazi leader’s assassination.

As one man held a large red flag emblazoned with a swastika, half a dozen others raised their right arms in a Nazi salute. Their ceremony came two weeks after neo-Nazis and white supremacists rallied in Charlottesville, where clashes with counterprotesters left one woman dead and many others injured.

The neo-Nazis who appeared in Arlington are members of New Order, a successor to the American Nazi Party, whose founder, George Lincoln Rockwell, was shot to death at the Dominion Hills shopping center on Aug. 25, 1967.

Martin Kerr, New Order’s chief of staff, said most of those who attended the commemoration live in the Washington area, although one came from Wisconsin to pay tribute to Rockwell.

“We laid a wreath, I said a few words and then we gave a nationalist socialist salute for 88 seconds,” Kerr said, explaining that the 88 seconds symbolized “Heil Hitler.”

Hilton head was one of the first oval magnets on cars. They used to have just a HH but from what I understand they got wind that their car magnets were being used by Nazi types to signal others of their membership. Hilton Head placed a lighthouse on their magnets as a result.

88 so stupid. I will say that I was surprised that NASCAR allowed Dale Earnhardt Jr to use #88. His dad was 3 he initially was 8 then his stepmother kicked him off the team so he went to make his own team and used 88 mainly I. Think for fans who had tattoos or some form of support for him. Dale Jr appears to be remarkably liberal for a crowd you might not expect to be such. NASCAR drivers tend to span the political spectrum unlike golfers who are almost all hard right scum.

Countless patriots died to eradicate those scum of the earth.

Why should we grant them any access to our hard fought freedoms?

They obviously are using those freedoms to undermine those self-same freedoms, which they would eliminate should they prevail.

Such circular and destructive behavior should be a felony, and considered traitorous activity.

It is beyond disgraceful, and an affront to the memory of those who perished for our democracy.
