What happened to my transgender friend?

What happened to my transgender friend?

Let’s call him “Morgan”, not his real name. I met him around 1970, about eight years before his (female to male) surgery in 1978. We became very good friends, and were like family, brothers.

After he married, and they had children, I became Godfather to their first born.

In 1990, twenty years after we first met, he asked to borrow $400. I would have loaned him a thousand had he asked (and had I had it). He said he would repay me in full the following Monday.

After 20 years of friendship, after 20 years of being ‘family’, he took the $400 and basically disappeared from my life.
He wouldn’t answer my calls. If he saw me walking down the side walk he’d duck into a nearby building, etc.

Anyhoooo ~ we lost touch. He divorced. The two kids have grown up.

Wondering this morning what had become of him (I recently discovered some old friends’ obits online)
I ‘googled’ him and found his Facebook page.

He’s written numerous posts on it praising Donald Trump and attacking the lying press and fake news.

Now, my old friend is a post operative transsexual, if that’s the proper way to put it.

Trump appears to be no friend of transsexuals.

I don’t get it. How can he be a staunch Trump supporter, being a transsexual?

By the way, I have reached out to him a few times through mutual friends over the years, saying I long ago forgave the debt (although I’m not happy about it) and he has never responded.

He’s gone on in life to be fairly successful, and he and his current wife have recently built a new home.

Is it me? Am I messed up in my thinking?

My apologies for any I have offended by this post.

The appropriate term is transgender. Transsexual is a porn term. DemocratSinceBirth Aug 2017 #1

Google says:

transsexual
"a person who emotionally
and psychologically feels that they belong to the opposite sex."

And Trump's ban, which I address, is on transsexuals, is it not?

Why do you care ? This person screwed you monetarily , breached trust and had no respect for your friendship. Sounds like a trump voter to me!

I had a similar experience and it seems to have no explanation. It's difficult to write about. PM me you if you wish.

They say if you loan someone $20 and never see them again, it was probably worth it. I guess the cost was higher for you.
