Angry Trump fired event organizer after disastrous half-full Phoenix rally

Angry Trump fired event organizer after disastrous half-full Phoenix rally

http://www.rawstory.com/2017/08/angry-trump-fired-event-organizer-after-disastrous-half-full-phoenix-rally/

According to Bloomberg Politics, George Gigicos, the former White House director of advance events, was told in no uncertain terms that he would never organize another rally for the president after Phoenix.

Three different sources told Bloomberg that Trump had his top security aide, Keith Schiller, inform Gigicos that he was out.

According to the report, “Gigicos had staged the event in a large multipurpose room. The main floor space was bisected by a dividing wall, leaving part of the space empty. There were some bleachers off to the side, but otherwise the audience was standing — and the scene appeared flat, lacking the energy and enthusiasm of other rallies.”

Trump is known to brag about his crowds, but later video showed that the crowd was even smaller in real life which angered the president who had boasted that 15,000 attendees had showed up — far fewer than local media reported.

I guess screeching a torrent of hate and self pity doesn't sell the way it used to.

Loved the pictures of the people sitting down and playing with their phones instead of listening to him.

Gigicos organized all of Trump’s signature campaign events and his occasional rallies since entering office. He left his White House job as director of advance on July 31 to return to his consulting business. But he continued to work for Trump’s re-election campaign and the Republican National Committee.

Over the past two years, Trump had often assigned the blame -- rightly or wrongly -- to Gigicos when his rally logistics weren’t perfect. But his irritation usually blew over quickly. When his microphone had problems at a rally in Pensacola, Florida, in January 2016, Trump bellowed: "The stupid mic keeps popping! Do you hear that, George? Don’t pay them! Don’t pay them!"

Downside: Some people show up hoping to get into the rally and have to be turned away.
Upside: On TV and in photographs, the room looks packed. Heck, the room is packed. There are people lined up inside, hoping the fire marshall will let them in when some people leave.

Depriving a comparative handful of people from experiencing the rally in person is a small price to pay to convey a better image to the millions who'll know only the media coverage.

He wants vast, adoring crowds filling huge arenas. If the guy had booked a high school gym or a church basement, which would have been more appropriate for the sparse crowd, there'd have been hell to pay. If you work for Trump you have to book the biggest space in town and be sure it's filled.

When I lived in Nevada, I did OK until it hit around 105. Now that I am in South Carolina, mid-70s with high humidity freaking kills me.

moisture in it makes my breathing very hard and painful and I get heat stroke easily. I do not think Obama would want one his people to die or need to go to the hospital just to see him. Obama cares to much. The dripping piece of shit would not care if you died or got ill just as long as you did what you were supposed to do, go see him.
